I tried to post a picture here but wasn't sure how to complete the action ^^
Here's a link to our facebook anyhow - we had a great day of sushi and dance and kituske, games and kanzashi

Re: Kimono-san in England
Hi Hachiko! Here's how I post images.
Results (a picture of the 5-storied pagoda in Asakusa, Tokyo, from 2010):
- Position your cursor where you want the image to appear.
- Get the URL for your image. (Cut & Paste...etc.)
- If the image resides only on your computer, click the Host an Image button first. Then once you load it, you can clip the image URL from that pop-up window.
- Click the Insert Image button and paste the URL in that pop-up window.

Brilliant! It's nice to see an interest get put into action! Looks like you're sharing a lot of information (and love) of Japanese culture.
Personally, of the places I've visited, my two favorites are the UK and Japan! Always want to go back...

Hachisu Okiya
My okiya project in Southwest england is going really well. We have experienced several different styles of events for art stuff we have organised, Kitsuke under the cherry blossoms and requests to assist other events.
I recently was booked to dance and socialise at a private party which was fun if not alienating to a certain extent. It was odd to be the 'maiko' sitting pretty in a corner until the performance but I did have some really interesting conversations. When you are an embodiment of art people seem to take this on and feel free to express themselves more freely than they do usually which is wonderful.
Here is a picture of my dance.. which was eventually performed on a picnic blanket - if one can manage nihon buyo in a hikizuri on a fabric floor one can probably manage it anywhere :-p
