The Great Mofuku Debate
Hey, I'm really sorry if treads on ill ground, but I wanna hear your opinions. What is your opinion of taking a mofuku item, and wearing it to: a)educate others b)give a use to a kimono that otherwise wouldn't be worn? I like wearing mofuku to showcase a specific item, or haori, or otherwise. Eventually, I'd like to learn how to create kurotomesode of my own unique design for fun on the mofuku iromuji I come across. Like Sake bottle labels, etc,. I feel as if, not to cause any disrespect, but to give a new, happier life to these kimono. If someone took the dress I wore to my father's funeral, and made it into something new, and happier- I would feel happy. But that's my opinion. I'ma ware not everyone would agree. So... How do you all feel?
