Congrats to the Eri-kae of Mamechiho and Kikuyu!

Two very reknowned maiko turned their collars to become official geiko- Congratulations to Mamechiho of Gion Kobu, and Kikuyu of Miyagawa-cho! As far as I recall, I believe Mamechiho came in at Number 2 in her district this year as a maiko, very well done! Kikuyu is well-known all over the world as a result of the documentary of her time as a shikomi (shee-ko-mee) apprentice through to her misedashi (mee-say-dah-shee) debut. I'll pose her documentary in another thread for you all to watch if you haven't already.
