JapanFest Atlanta - Sept. 17-18, 2011
THIS YEAR:
JapanFest Weekend will be held on September 17-18, 2011, from 10 am to 6 pm (Saturday) and 10 am to 5 pm (Sunday) at the Convention Center at Gwinnett Center (located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097). Tickets are $8 (free for kids 6 and under) and can be purchased at the door.
Anime Weekend Atlanta (is not at the same time this year T_T)
September 30 - October 2, 2011, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and
Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

JapanFest Weekend will be held on September 18-19, 2010, from 10 am to 6 pm (Saturday) and 10 am to 5 pm (Sunday) at the Convention Center at Gwinnett Center (located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097).
JapanFest, now in its 24th year, is the largest Japanese festival east of Houston and south of Washington, DC, and typically draws crowds exceeding 18,000.
Featuring Japanese music, dance, children's entertainment, sake and haiku workshops, martial arts demos, NASCAR racer Akinori Ogata, food and lots of stuff to buy.
Also in Atlanta at the same time:
Anime Weekend Atlanta
September 17 - 19 2010, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
AWA has a wide variety of events including video room showings of Japanese cartoons from new releases and titles going back to the 1960's, a dealer's room with retailers who sell Japanese animation and manga related merchandise such as toys, videos, audio CD's and artwork, workshops, panel discussions on various topics including the current trends in Japan and how they will affect the United States, a costume contest where attendees dress up as their favorite anime or manga character, and scores of guests who have worked or currently are working in the industry. Wear your JapanFest wristband to Anime Weekend Atlanta and get $5 off walk-up admission!! Click here for details.
